    Road to Nardo: Scot Armstrong to make his directorial debut

    • Sony Pictures is developing a new comedy "Road to Nardo".
    • Andrew Waller and Mike Gagerman have written the spec script.
    • Scot Armstrong ("Old School") will make his directorial debut.
    • The story centers on two guys who go to Mexico to rescue their friend.

    Untitled Cesar Chavez biopic: Keir Pearson to write the script

    • Keir Pearson will write the screenplay for the "Untitled Cesar Chavez biopic".
    • Pearson along with Larry Meli optioned the rights to Chavez's story.
    • The film will focus on the story of the civil-rights activist and labor organizer, as he fought for improved working conditions for California farm workers.
    • The project is being developed by Canana Films, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna's Mexico-based company.

    Paz: Peter Facinelli to play the boxer

    • Peter Facinelli ("Twilight") will star as Vinny Pazienza in the biopic "Paz".
    • Michael Corrente will direct.
    • The story will follow Pazienza's comeback from a near-fatal car accident. Told by doctors he would never walk again, Pazienza trained in secret and was able to re-enter the ring.
    • Filming is currently scheduled for early next year.

    Untitled Steve Carell Comedy: Emma Stone to co-star

    • Emma Stone is in negotiations to join the cast of the "Untitled Steve Carell Comedy".
    • She will play the daughter of Carell's character and the love interest to Gosling's character.

    Right Stuff Wrong Sex: new project announced

    • MTS Films is developing the space-program drama "Right Stuff Wrong Sex".
    • The story is based on Margaret A. Weitekamp's book and centers on the confrontation between two of aviation's female titans, Jackie Cochran and Jerrie Cobb, in a battle to send the first woman into space.

    Speed Demon: Paradox Entertainment picks up the horror project

    • Paradox Entertainment will develop the horror film "Speed Demon".
    • The project was previously announced as a Arclight and Foundation co-production.
    • Mike Sorrentino and Randy Vampotic have written the screenplay.
    • The story follows an underworld enforcer, who while hunting a small-time crook on a desert highway discovers that he is also being tracked by a mysterious, terrifying creature.

    Act like a Lady, Think like a Man: Merryman and Newman to adapt the book

    • Screen Gems is developing an adaptation of the relationship-advice book "Act like a Lady, Think like a Man".
    • Keith Merryman and David A. Newman ("Burlusque") will write the screenplay.
    • The book sheds light on everything from why men are in the fixing business and not the talking business to why independent women should reconnect with their girlish side to make their men feel necessary.

    Overboard: Jennifer Lopez in talks to star in the remake

    • Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in the remake of the romantic comedy "Overboard".
    • The original film, which starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, centered on a spoiled woman who falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local, morally challenged carpenter. When she wakes up with amnesia, he convinces her she is his wife, thereby getting a free housekeeper for his four boys.
    • Adam Cooper, Bill Collage and Leslie Dixon worked on the current script.
    • Overbrook Entertainment partners Will Smith and James Lassiter will be producing.

    The Addams Family: Tim Burton will direct a 3D stop-motion animated adaptation

    • Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland) will direct a 3D stop-motion animated adaptation of "The Addams Family".
    • Illumination Entertainment acquired the rights to the Addams drawings and Chris Meledandri will be producing.
    • The film will be inspired by Charles Addams' original Addams Family illustrations, which were a staple of The New Yorker magazine, and not by the Addams Family TV show, the two animated series or the movies from the nineties.

    Dibbuk Box: Lionsgate acquired North American rights

    • Lionsgate has acquired North American rights to "Dibbuk Box".
    • Based on a true story, the film is about a family that finds itself in possession of a haunted box, and struggles to get rid of its evil curse.
    • Juliet Snowden and Stiles White are writing the script, Sam Raimi and his partner Rob Tapert from Ghost House Pictures are producing.

    Kane & Lynch: Jamie Foxx joins the cast

    • Jamie Foxx joins Bruce Willis in the action thriller "Kane & Lynch".
    • He will play Lynch, a schizophrenic killer that teams up with Kane (Willis) to retrieve a stolen fortune.
    • Simon Crane is directing the film that is set to start production in August.

    The Monster Squad: Paramount to remake and Cohen in talks to direct

    • Paramount Pictures is set to remake the 1987 film "Monster Squad".
    • Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) who produced the original movie is in talks to direct the new film.
    • The film is about a group of kids who worship the classic monsters and suddenly discover that Dracula is in town, and he's got his pals Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Gill Man and The Mummy with him. The kids must stop their efforts to find an amulet that will give the creatures control of the world.
